Dollar Tsaastan
Gamban stand proudly in front of his reindeers. Like many more families from the east and west Taiga, he came into Tsaganuur with all his possessions, to celebrate the local Nadaam festival. ‘The only little party which we celebrate once a year’. Nevertheless Gamban is suffering. ‘A so called Dollar Tsaatan want to buy some of my animals, to make a tourist attraction out of them near the Khövsgol Lake. But, the reindeer don’t survive on the fields down near the lake. There, they don’t find the necessary moss and little by little they die. I don’t want to make my animals suffer. But then, I need money to send my children to school’. I am touched by his dilemma. Without much thinking I by one of his animals. ‘Can she stay with you?’, I ask. The man looks surprised. ‘But of course. I do love my children and my animal, but I don’t like the Dollar Tsatab’.
